Wout Verschueren started in the seventies with Karate, first Shotokan laterĀ  Shito Ryu where he still holds a nidan (2nd dan). Later he became fascinated by the Japanese sword (katana) and started Iaido and Kendo.

Actually holding a rokudan (6th dan) in Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu, he is a direct student of Esaka sensei Hanshi, judan (10th dan), and member of the Esaka dojo in Tokyo and of the ZNIR (Zen Nihon Iaido Renmei).

In the first picture you see Esaka sensei and Wout Verschueren during one of his visits to Japan.

Regular seminars in Japan, Canada, USA and Europe with his teacher Esaka sensei and other Japanese sword masters ensure that there is a close contact with the school and are a guarantee for the high level of quality. At the second picture you see him with the late Soke Fukui Torao.

The third picture show him with the Ikeda Soke (middle) and Esaka Sensei.
